Reveal Your Glow . . . Brush Your Body Beautiful ReviewThis is an attractive book, but it only contains enough information to fill a magazine article. Within it's large print, wide margins and line spacing interspersed with drawings and duotone photos, the author's message boils down to this: Gently brush your dry body (excluding face) with a skin brush using motions that move toward the heart. Shower briefly in tepid water, dry off and moisturize. I strongly disagree with her recommendation to "buff" the body again after washing with a very coarse towel. That treatment is much too rough for wet skin (just as it's too rough for wet hair). It's also pointless because the dry brushing and showering removed the dead skin cells. The author herself makes the statement not to wet brush skin as "wet skin is much more sensitive to rubbing and brushing [than dry skin]", so why towel it roughly? Skin brushing is ancient. And wonderful. I've been doing it for years and I love the results. There isn't much information available on it, and on that count, this book has merit. But it is quite overpriced and offers some advice I felt to be flawed. You'd be better off spending your money on the skin brush (which costs about half what this book does). The brushes are available at most natural foods stores (including internet shops). I prefer the softer ones (Yerba Prima brushes can be quite stiff)Reveal Your Glow . . .
