Chinese Brush Painting Kit: Professional materials and step-by-step instruction for the aspiring artist (Walter Foster Painting Kits) ReviewThis kit is great for peronal use and as a gift - nice package, quite visual & colorful.I paint in oil, so the transition to watercolors is a bit challenging for me, but the tutorial in the book is clear and easy to follow, all pieces are in place and well described.
One negative remark - brushes, not of a good quality. The wolf-fur one (soft brush) started to lose hairs immideately, the odd hairs are sticking out which makes it hard to paint (especially if one is a novice). I tried to get rid of those odd ones, but they pull others after them, the brush is threatening to go bald any moment now.
The patterns in the guide book are not very original - some of them are presented in Art of Chinese Brush Painting (Artist's Library Series) by Lucy Wang, same sequence and wording.
