Exploring Adobe Illustrator CS5 (Design Exploration) ReviewI bought the Kindle version. I am writing this partly as a warning to others, and partly in response to the reviewer who said "...some digital files are loaded onto the Internet somewhere; all you need to do is ask for the links. ". This is, unfortunately, not true. After more than 5 hours spent over a two-day period talking to support people from both Amazon and the distributor: Cengage.com (Amazon's service was by far superior), after occasional rudeness (on the part of Cengage), and multiple transfers from technical support to customer service and back, I was gleefully told by a Cengage representative that the necessary tutorial files are NOT AVAILABLE ONLINE even to those who purchased the ebook from Cengage itself, never mind the Kindle version from Amazon. Having successfully downloaded lesson files for my two previous Kindle-format tutorials, I was astonished. I was further astonished at Cengage's charging, from their website, $38.95 for their own ebook version, for which no lesson files are available in any form (CD OR downloadable).
I returned my Kindle book, and ordered the paperback (with lesson files included on CD) from Amazon. I'm nervous about the CD, however, because Cengage HAS had trouble with it, according to one of the Cengage tech support people I talked to.
In the future, before buying a Kindle tutorial, I'm planning to check first on the availability of downloadable lesson files. The web address for downloads can be found by viewing the Amazon book sample - it has always given me the relevant web address within the first few pages.Exploring Adobe Illustrator CS5 (Design Exploration) Overview
